Lazy afternoon

Tonight after dinner, we headed outside. It was a beautiful night and the boys enjoyed playing around the back yard.

This does not look comfortable for either of them, but they both enjoyed it!

Wesley recently planted some sod and we were watering it. Philip got interested in the sprinkler and before we knew it, we were all taking turns running through the water.

I love nights where the only thing on the agenda is fun!

Even the dogs enjoyed teh night!

Here's to 9 great years!

One of Wesley’s coworkers, Nancy, offered us two tickets to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Fox. WHOO HOO!! That play is one of our favorites and it was going on the weekend after our anniversary. Happy anniversary to us!

We secured a sitter (thanks, Jilli!) and make plans for dinner and the show. Though it is not one of Wesley’s favorites, he let me pick, and I chose Melting Pot. I love the experience of that place!

We had a delicious dinner and absolutely AMAZING seats for the performance. Four rows back, center stage! The performance was awesome. We know all the songs and sang along. One of the performers, a little girl, looked so familiar, and during the last song, I realized how I knew her. She does homeschool with my neighbor and stared in the Christmas play Jackson and I went to in December. Cumming, GA has a star!!

Thanks, Wesley, for a wonderful night out and 9 great years!

Enjoying the fondue!
(We had cheese, salads, and entrees. I had a coupon (of course) so it was a great meal at a great price!)

Family Outing to Perimeter Mall

I heard on the radio that Disney was brining a special exhibit to Perimeter Mall. We thought Wesley was working on Saturday so I made plans to take the boys down. Wesley’s event was cancelled so he joined us! Family Outing!!!

We arrived at Perimeter as the exhibit opened. It was low key, but quite impressive. There were several photo booths set up, and once you got inside, you were prompted to smile 4 times at the camera. Then, your pictures were added to the Famous Disney Landmarks. You could preview them and then enjoy a print out of one of the pictures! It was fast, easy, and fun!

The Benders in front of Cinderella's castle

After that little activity, we went to the AMAZING Disney Store. They were doing a special Cars 2 activity, and the boys (all three!) got into it…some more than others!

Here's our Jackson...

so studious...

listening to the directions...

asking questions...

completing the assignment.

And then, there's Philip....

Eating the magnifying glass...

talking on the phone....

goofing off with Dad!

While we were in the Disney Store, we let the boys pick out a toy. Philip (by default since he was eating it!!!) got the Handy Manny Phone and Jackson picked out a camera. The camera was a really cute toy and turned out to be endless entertainment for Wesley and me!

I got Wesley to take the above picture of the boys and me and then Jackson said it was his turn...

Wesley got a picture of Jackson taking a picture of us, but wait...not just with the camera, but also...

with the new Handy Manny phone! Too cute!

Then, he also had to snap my picture in Dillards.

And I had to snap Wesley's in Dillards because I thought this was hilarious!

Father's Day

We were so glad to be able to spend Father’s Day in Knoxville. It had been too long since we had been to K-Town, and a nice relaxing weekend with Jack and Lynne was the perfect way to celebrate with Wesley!

Sadly, my camera died as soon as we pulled into the driveway, but thanks to cell phones, I was able to get a few shots of the weekend.

Saturday morning, Jackson, Lynne and I traveled to the Farmer’s Market. I love fresh produce in the summer and enjoyed looking around at the different booths. One lady was there with her violins and let the kids try. The first time around, Jackson looked but would not touch. Then, I caught him staring off at the display and asked if he wanted to try. He said, “Yes!”

Very three-year-old little boy: Jackson had just devoured a chocolate chip cookie before he wanted to play. He walked over to the lady with chocolate all over his mouth and asked to play.
She looked at him, looked at her violin and said, "well, let's get you cleaned off first!"
Whoops..I didn't think that playing a violin would require a clean mouth...my bad!

Sunday afternoon while Philip napped, Jackson, Jack and Wesley went out on the boat. It really was the perfect way for both Wesley and KD to celebrate Father’s Day!

McDonalds

Today was our monthly lunch with Patricia. Again, a great time was had by all. We decided to go back to our usual place – a McDonald’s with an indoor playground – and it was a huge hit. Jackson loved playing on the play equipment and even dared to go to the top. He loved it and went up and down so many times! Even Philip got adventurous and joined Jackson on the play set. Thankfully, he stayed closer to the ground!

Jackson loved being up so high!

And he loved that slide!

Patricia helped Philip get up in the action!

Philip loves Ms. Patricia! Here he is showing her the toys.

Mommy/Son Date Night

Jackson was a real trooper last week. Wesley was gone with Mission: ATL and Philip had been very sick. Jackson was so patient as we stayed inside for most of the weekend nursing Philip back to normal.

Tonight, I asked Wesley if I could get away with Jackson and enjoy some one-on-one time with him. Wesley was all for it. I let Jackson decide what we would do, and he picked the food court and the train (I could have guessed that!) We had so much fun and came home with far more presents than we should have, but I figured I needed to treat my date to a few new things!

Thanks, J, for a great night out!

Mommy and her adorable date!

Please, Mr. Conductor, can you please get off the phone to take my son's money??

Riding the train all by himself - such a big boy!!

I let him ride the train by himself but didn't let him get out of my sight. I walked behind the train all around the mall (taking pictures as I went. I probably looked odd!)

We even splurged and rode the rides by the train

Dinner at Chick-fil-a...a Chicken Hamburger, french fries, and a chocolate milk. Real treat for him!

(Take a good look at the boo-boo on his head! Whoops! He feel in the church parking lot the day before)

Stone Mountain with Miss 'Nutha

Tonight the Mission: Atlanta group went to Stone Mountain. Since Philip wasn’t feeling well and we hadn’t been out of the house for a while, Wesley offered to take Jackson with him.

I was unsure of how that would work out but Wesley said there were plenty of people around to keep an eye on Jackson. I should have known Minutha would jump at the chance to run around with Jackson

She is so sweet and loving to our boys and from the looks of the pictures I found on Facebook, both she and Jackson had a great time!

Jackson and Miss 'Nutha

I love this picture!!!

Jackson and his map!

Minutha even took him to the top of Stone Mtn! How fun!

Miss Talita joined the fun as well

Swimming with Ms Deb!

This week was Jackson’s last week of Swim Class. He has been working on his skills for three months so we decided to take a break in June.

Since Wesley was working all week at Mission: ATL, Jack and Lynne came down for a visit. Jack joined us today at Jackson's lesson. Jackson loved showing off for KD.

Here he is with his WONDERFUL teacher, Ms. Deb!
