Philip is 6 months old!

Today was a special day. In addition to it being Philip’s 6 month birthday, it is also one of only a handful of Saturdays we have spent with just us since Philip has been born.

We have had 26 Saturdays with Philip, but only 9 have been spent with just the 4 of us. The other 17 have been either spent in TN, with Wesley traveling/working, or with friends or family in town. Though we have LOVED each Saturday – that’s a lot! It was really nice to wake up this morning and know we could do what ever we wanted!

It scared Wesley a little but I really enjoyed taking it easy. We even went to the YMCA as a family. How fun!

But, as exciting as that was, it was even better celebrating 6 wonderful months with Mr. Philip. He is a beautiful source of joy for our family and has developed so much over the past month.

He has started:

- eating cereal, vegetables, and fruit (loves green beans, peas, and peaches)

- sitting on his own

- getting up on all fours! No crawling forward yet, but we have witnessed a few backward scoots.

Also, he has become infatuated with all things Jackson. No matter what J is doing, Philip is watching – whether it be yelling, laughing, taking toys, or his favorite playing!

Wesley and I have been a little surprised that Jackson has taken some interest in him as well. The other day, while Jackson and Wesley were playing, Jackson stopped and brought Philip over a toy so he could play too. Granted, it wasn’t that he was allowed to play with Jackson and DaDa, but Jackson at least wanted him to have some fun too!

At his 6 month check-up, he weighed in at 19 lbs 8 oz (80%); 28 1/2 inches (96%).

Here are some pictures of Philip at 6 months:

Sitting up like a big boy

Out of nowhere the other day, Jackson asked if he could feed Philip his bottle. Sure! He held on for about a minute until he said "He's too big for me!" Agreed :-)

Happy Boy

So sweet!

My love

And he's (almost) on his way!

  1. Philip has certainly brought another chapter of joy to our home. Thanks for capturing these pictures for us! However, if the kid does not stop eating, you may have to go back to work :0)
