Garage Sale

For five years, Wesley and I have tossed around the idea of having a garage sale but have never taken the plunge. This year, our neighbors, Steve and Angela, asked us if we would be interested in working together on a sale. This was the perfect time to say "Yes!"

For two weeks, we scoured our house from top to bottom clearing away all the clutter. Our garage quickly was filled. We were hoping the saying "one person's junk is another person's treasure" would hold true!

Wesley and I woke up early Friday morning to set up things on the driveway. We had half of it out when it started to rain :( On to Plan B. We quickly rearranged our garage and had the majority of the items on display in there.

We were worried that the rain would scare people off, but it didn't. We were open from 8 -2 and never had a dull moment. Saturday was a prettier day, but we actually made more money in the rain!

Overall, we did pretty good. We made a few dollars but more importantly, we got rid of all the stuff in our house that we weren't using. It feels good to have a clutter-free house..at least for a little while!

These were our best customers. They came by both days and bought a lot of stuff. I hope they enjoy what they got as much as we enjoyed getting rid of it :-)

Angela, Wesley and Steve in front of the Direct TV dishes we thought might sell...they didn't :-(

Jackson was a trooper all weekend! He played inside by himself most of the weekend. He was so good - even when we asked him to play nicely with McKenzie, our neighbors 5 month old!
