Easter Egg Hunt

Since we were in Nashville last weekend, we missed the Easter Egg Hunt at our church. I was so glad that Jackson's preschool was hosting their hunt this weekend so we could enjoy this Easter tradition.

Mom and her boys before the Hunt

Dad and Jackson before the Hunt. Jackson had one basket for him (the firetruck) and one for Philip (the yellow chick)

The hunt was held on the front lawn of the church. We arrived in time for the Preschool hunt at 10:30. Wesley and Jackson gathered around the large white square on the lawn and waited for the okay to start collecting the eggs. They weren't hidden - just a free for all in the middle of the square.

As soon as they said "Go" all the kids took off - all the kids but Jackson. He just stood there. Wesley finally got him out into the square where he collected 8 plastic eggs. We took him back to examine his loot, and he found out candy was inside his eggs.

Knowing that he wasn’t just going for eggs but that candy was involved made him want to go again. Luckily, the Kindergarten hunt was also open to the smaller kids, and Jackson lined up for another hunt.

The man said "Go" and Jackson just stood there again! We finally got him into the square and he started going crazy. He got the hang of it and collected quite a few eggs. The purple ones were his favorite!

He wanted to join the 3-5th graders for their hunt, but we decided the older kids might be a little aggressive for Jackson. Instead we headed out to pick up lunch.

Jackson really enjoyed the morning. Philip just chilled out during the hunts, but next year, he will be all over it. I can't wait to see Jackson show him the ropes of Easter Egg Hunting!
