This weekend my parents came for a visit. We were invited to a Bat Mitzvah for Emily, Wesley's co-worker's daughter and instead of getting a sitter, we asked Mimi and PopPop if they could come down to watch the kids. It all worked out so they came down! Yay!
They got in Friday afternoon so we headed to the Mall of Georgia for dinner, shopping and a visit to Krispy Kreme.

Jackson and Philip LOVE to watch the doughnuts being made. They found some empty chairs and pulled them up for a front row view! |

The highlight of the doughnut viewing festivities was the one doughnut that didn't get flipped. |

Jackson and his pumpkin doughnut. Sorry for the red glare - the "Hot Now" sign was on and right beside our table! |
Saturday morning, we all went to the Meals By Grace 5K/Fun Run. That afternoon, all but mom took naps. After rest, we hung out until Wesley and I headed out to the Bat Mitzvah.

All dressed up and ready to go! |
Now, this was our first Bat Mitzvah so we technically have nothing to compare it to, but we are going to go out on a limb and say this wasn't your usual party. It was at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and it was absolutely amazing! Nancy and Kenny know how to throw a party!
The atmosphere was electric, the food was delicios and the entire event was beautiful! Wesley and I enjoyed ourselves so much and enjoyed the rare night out on the town. More importantly, Emily had a huge smile on her face all night and it really looked like she and her (many!) 13 year-old friends were having a blast!
Here are a few pictures - and yes, it might be tacky to take pictures at a reception like this, but I wasn't the only one wanting to capture this night!

Some of the delicious food - sliders, salad, chicken fingers, Prime Rib, Baked Potato Bar I missed taking pictures of the appetizers (lamb chops, wontons, pumpkin soup...) and the Dessert selection (Cupcake Bar, Ice Cream Sandwich Bar, and Hot drink bar with white chocolate hot chocolate! Yummy!!) |

Centerpieces - they were stunningly beautiful! |
It was a great weekend and we were so glad to be able to spend time in our home with Mimi and Pop Pop!!!
