To some, it may sound funny to go Trick-Or-Treating in a grocery store, but to me, Publix is more than a grocery store. It is where we get to see Kimrey and Ms. Ann!
Jackson and I are in Publix at every week. We start off with a Monday shopping run, and usually go back at least once more for last minute things. Without fail, we see the same faces and have made some friends.
First there is Ms. Ann, the nice lady who makes the sample meals each week. Jackson smile has captured the heart of Ms. Ann. She just loves on him and usually hands him a special snack. Jackson loves to see Ms. Ann!
Jackson’s other favorite is Kimrey. She bags our groceries each week. No matter the length of the line, we will wait for Kimrey! We get up to the register and Jackson leans around to see if Kimrey is at the end. Once he spots her, he just smiles! After I unload all of my groceries from the cart, I slide Jackson down and he and Kimrey just chat like old friends!! It is so sweet!
Both Ms. Ann and Kimrey were working Friday night and were so glad to see Jackson!! I will admit it was a little weird to have my camera in the grocery store, but I am so glad I was able to snap a picture with our Publix friends!

Jackson just loved being in the store and not being strapped in the cart. He was having a blast running down the aisles. I have to admit, it was pretty funny seeing a Bee strolling down the aisles checking out the food!
At one point, he even decided to take off running - look at that smile!
They had a few places set up to get candy. Here is a picture of Jackson tasting his first Peppermint Patty. I think he liked it!
We knew Jackson was a little too young to grasp the meaning of Trick-Or-Treating when we took him to the meat department. Wesley had taken Jackson over to the deli counter where they gave him a Laffy Taffy (you can see the candy in his hands below) Jackson carried that Laffy Taffy around the store with him all night. Once we got to the meat department, the butcher showed Jackson his candy bowl and put it down so Jackson could grab some. Not knowing exactly what to do with either the bowl in front of him or the Laffy Taffy in his hand, Jackson just did the logical thing! He added his candy to the man’s stash!! He just dropped it in and clapped for himself! The butcher was a little confused, but Wesley and I just smiled, clapped and told Jackson "Great Job!"
Once we got home from Publix, we fixed our Halloween tradition – Croissant Dogs (croissants wrapped around Hot Dogs) and opened the door for all the Trick-Or-Treaters. Jackson loved it when the door bell rang!! I can tell he is going to be all about Halloween next year!
It was a great night all around!
